The eighth and final
program of San Francisco Ballet’s 2015 season is currently underway at the War
Memorial Opera House; seven more performances remain before the curtain falls
on Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson’s Romeo
& Juliet. Though the company’s season officially closes on Sunday, May
10th, there are still opportunities to see this phenomenal artistic
institution over the next few months.
Stern Grove Festival’s
line-up was just recently announced and San Francisco Ballet will appear on
Sunday, July 26th as part of the Festival’s 78th season.
But May holds another not-to-be-missed event – San Francisco Ballet School’s
Student Showcase, a three-night engagement at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
Theater. This special program features Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Soirées Musicales (US premiere) and Helgi
Tomasson’s Bartók Divertimento, along
with new work choreographed by San Francisco Ballet company members. Join the entire San Francisco Ballet family as they honor the dedicated, committed and talented student dancers of the San Francisco Ballet School.
Student Showcase - May
20th & 22nd at 7:30pm; May 21st at 6:00pm
Yerba Buena Center for
the Arts Theater, 700 Howard St., San Francisco
